Creating your affiliate program
To start your affiliate program simply head to the Affiliates tab and click Add affiliate program. From here you can enter the details of your affiliate program including:
Commission settings
Setting | Description |

Commission rate | The percentage of revenue to pay as commission to affiliates for referred customers. |
Commission duration | How long commissions are paid on a referral. Set a number of months, or leave blank for lifetime commissions. |
Revenue type | Choose whether commissions are calculated on gross or net revenue. |
Revenue components | Select which revenue types count toward commissions: subscription, usage, or one-time charges. By default, all revenue types are included. |
Commission start date | Ignore commissions before a specific date. Useful when migrating from another affiliate platform to avoid counting historical revenue twice. |
Bonuses and thresholds
Setting | Description |

Signup incentive | A bonus payment affiliates receive for each new signup they refer. |
Installation reward | A fixed payment for each app installation by a referred customer. |
Minimum plan value | Only pay commissions on plans at or above this price threshold. |
Program rules
Setting | Description |

Approval requirement | Decide if affiliates need approval before they can participate in the program. |
Terms of Service acceptance | Require affiliates to agree to your Terms of Service before joining. Affiliates will be prompted to accept via your designated URL within the affiliate portal. |
Required affiliate fields | Require affiliates to provide additional information (address, VAT/Tax ID, company number) before they can request a payout. |
Uninstall handling | Control what happens to referrals when the customer uninstalls the app: keep the referral assigned, unassign immediately, or unassign after a specified number of days. |
Visibility and distribution
Setting | Description |

Custom affiliate link | Set a custom URL for affiliate referrals instead of the default Shopify App Store link. |
Show in marketplace | List your program in the Mantle affiliate marketplace so other app developers can discover and apply to it. |
Once your affiliate program is established, it will appear alongside any other programs you've created.
To manage a specific program, simply click on it. This action will take you to its unique dashboard, where you can begin managing all aspects of the program.
